⚠️ Don't make any Provet config changes now, please contact one of the DP onboarding team at support@digitalpractice.vet first, as other set up is needed first!

Provet SMS

Any messages that currently go via Provet SMS can be switched to be delivered by Digital Practice WhatsApp instead. Note that SMS settings are global, so switching this for one department will apply to all clinics in your organisation.

  • DP will attempt to send the message by WhatsApp first but as default will fall back to SMS if the client does not have a WhatsApp account.

  • Any client replies will be shown on your Digital Practice Day List.

Provet patient reminders

Templates

Your patient reminder templates and send schedules are still all managed as before within Provet.

Only Provet templates with the 'Default send method' set to 'SMS' or 'Email and SMS' will be sent by Digital Practice.

To be able to send your reminder as a WhatsApp message, a single template is created in Digital Practice and approved with Meta (the provider of WhatsApp messaging). We then inject your reminder into this 'shell' template as below:

  • Header: A friendly greeting, it's possible to use Digital Practice merge fields (e.g. client name) for personalisation.

  • Body: The reminder text as already defined in your template in Provet.

  • Footer. A friendly sign-off, usually 'Thank you, [CLINIC NAME]' where we insert the clinic name automatically. A Meta template cannot end with a merge field.

ℹ️ A small adjustment may have to be made to the wording of your reminder templates if you already have the client's name or clinic name in the text to avoid repetition. The header and footer must be identical for all reminders, and any new lines inside Provet templates will be removed before sending as they are not supported by Meta.
